Sports Massage

Sports massage is often associated with athletes. While it is true that they do play an important role in allowing an athlete to prepare his/her body for peak performance as well as recovery afterwards, sports massage is beneficial to everyone. A good sports massage will focus on prevention and healing of muscle and tendon injuries. As such, they are beneficial for all people - athletes and non-athlete alike - suffering from injuries and/or chronic pain.

When receiving your sports massage, your therapist will typically concentrate on a specific problem area that you identify. This may be an area that you recently injured. This may be from a sport or just from over use.

The treatment will be tailored to your specific circumstances. Prior to an event, you may want a stimulating massage 15-45 minutes beforehand. This would focus on the parts of your body that will be involved in the activity. After an event, you may want a sports massage to normalize your body tissues. Perhaps your need is restorative or for rehab. Whatever your need, we can give you the attention you need to compete harder or simply to alleviate pain.
